About Judith

Judith was born in Hertfordshire, and read English at Birmingham University in the 1960s. She then qualified and had a long career as a social worker, manager and educator. She currently tutors on the Social Work course at Goldsmiths University of London.

She has published two biographies, Lucy Faithfull: Mother to Hundreds (2010) and A Particle of Clay: The Biography of Alec Skempton, Civil Engineer (Whittles, 2002), a book about her father. She has an MA in Life Writing from the University of East Anglia. She also writes articles in flying magazines describing long-distance trips in a light aircraft.

Judith has lived in The Netherlands and the USA, and now lives with her husband and one of her three adult children in south London.
